Hey,
I’m just popping in to say hello & provide a little update on how the 1-year celebration event went. I know I said that the new episode that was previewed at last week’s event was supposed to come out, but I’m still recovering from last Friday and have dedicated most of this week to writing my tiresome thesis. I will release the episode next week—hold me to it!
Anyways, back to the 1 year celebration. In all honesty, it exceeded my expectations. Maybe it’s because it was the first individual event I’ve hosted in Lisbon or most of my post-grad life (aside from my service year), but was it ever so special.
Thank you to those who came to @platedhistory’s 1 year anniversary gathering (and those who were there in spirit). That entire weekend served as a wonderful reminder of the power of community. I was (and still am) beaming from seeing a packed & diverse room of folks who bravely shared their thoughts on collective liberation and connectedness. There’s so much work to be done for collective liberation to be accomplished truly, but there are great people from all walks of life committed to the work, regardless of whether or not we’ll see the results in our lifetime. And I was fortunate to spend a few hours with some of them in Lisbon.
Thank you again for helping make such a special memory for me with my time in Lisbon + 2025 thus far. There will be more opportunities to cultivate intentional community with the Plated History listeners in Lisbon so be on the lookout for announcements after I finish this chapter of my thesis.
I’ll be back next week to share the next episode of season 2. Until then.
With endless gratitude,
Monét 💚💚
So glad it was wonderful!
