Honorable Episode Mentions
Monique’s work:
Mum, me
Sunday Dinner
Watch & enjoy!!!
Other mentions:
Supacell
(Available on Netflix….or wherever you prefer to stream)
Zadie Smith
Zadie Smith is an author I have heard about for quite some time and I am ashamed to say I have yet to read her work, but after hearing Monique’s praise, I intend to bump up her books to the top of my list. The New York Times Style Magazine had a nice interview with Zadie in 2016 that gave me a nice introduction to who she is.
Additional mentions:
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (this will always be a favorite show of mine)
Insecure
& 90s sitcoms including: Martin, Living Single, Sister, Sister, and Girlfriends. You can read more about the cultural impact these shows had here.
I’m currently in the US visiting family and friends and have been delaying writing my reflective section for this episode with Monique. So i’m keeping things short and sweet this round. However, I have one more post to share with you all related to my trip to London and this episode so be on the lookout for an email in early 2025 :)
Happy holidays and see you all in the new year!
