[Entire Interview] Connectedness: Hiroshima and Gaza with Hachidorisha Café

Entire Interview with Japanese + English Translations

Below you will find recommended learning resources. These were resources I used to prepare for my interview and trip to Hiroshima:

Barefoot Gen Vol 1-10. A must read.

"Barefoot Gen” is a manga series created by Keiji Nakazawa that recounts the experiences of Gen Nakaoka, a young boy who survives the atomic bombing of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. The manga is based off of the author’s own experiences of being an atomic bomb survivor.

It was also turned into a movie. I cannot find the version that I watched, but this one has English subtitles.

Here is one more documentary you can watch:

The Silent Witness: A Survivor's Story of Hiroshima | Emmy-Winning Short Documentary

Lastly, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum was referenced a few times throughout the conversation. It is less than 10 minutes (walking per my pace) away from Hachidorisha Café. Please visit the museum and park if you ever find yourself in Japan. Make sure to visit Hiroshima.

Thank you again to Erika-san & Mayu for taking time out of their day to sit and chat with me. Be sure to add Hachidorisha Café to your list when visiting Japan.

As always, thanks to Mista Sanches for allowing me to use his song, J77 - Gold Money, for my intro and outro on the podcast.
